The Ministry of Infrastructure organizes a NICI II implementation retreat for the General Secretaries, and Directors of ICT in all Ministries, the General Directors of Public Commissions and Agencies.

The retreat has been scheduled to be held at the KIVU SUN from June 1 st to 2 nd 2006.

 

The objective is to facilitate the ownership of the NICI II implementation process by various stakeholders and to take stock of their roles and responsibilities during implantation.

 

 

In addition, the retreat will also present the new programs that aiming to achieve the NICI II Goal “To support the strengthening of economic base and improve the economic environment to accelerate development and growth towards achieving a predominant information knowledge and economy”.

 

 

It’s also recognize that due to a number of factors, the prospects for implementation of NICI II are much more promising than those of NICI I.

One of the lessons learnt during NICI I implementation, is the need for various stakeholders to take stock of their roles and responsibilities during implementation.

During the seminar, the participants will discuss the topics as the roles and responsibilities of the all stakeholders, how to elaborate the mechanism of monitoring and evaluation, the risks and challenges, the critical success factors and the keys issues.

 

 

At is expected that after this retreat, all participants will be able to elaborate their policies and plans in framework of NICII implementation .
